Dip molding is a widely used process for fabrication of a multitude of items
these days. Dip molding occurs when a heated metal mold is dipped into a vat of
cool plastisol or other molding compound. The finished product can be one of a
number of items including end caps, plugs and even surgical gloves. Dip molding
is a highly favored production method in the industry as it is a relatively
inexpensive process for a couple of different reasons that will be highlighted
in the following paragraphs.
Inexpensive Tools
As the tools which are needed to produce items fabricated using the dip
molding method are inexpensive, the overall cost to make items in this manner is
also inexpensive. This is a wonderful incentive for companies looking to produce
caps or any other type of item which is manufactured in this way because of the
financial savings.
Many Items Can Be Produced Via This Process at One Time
Another reason why dip molding is an overall inexpensive process is due to
the fact that many molds can be dipped at one time. The more molds which are
produced at a time, the quicker they can be completed in order to get out on the
market and make room for more molds to be produced. This process allows for a
great quantity of molds to be produced by using the same liquid, which is also a
cost efficient production method.
These are just two of the reasons why dip molding is a favored method among
producers of products in this industry.
